Online tutoring in mathematics, contest preparation, programming and CAD for grade 9 to 12. STEMBridge Academy is a non-profit. We keep none of what we earn.

Sessions run online. We work mostly with high school students, and also with younger students building toward the same subjects.
Pricing
We set pricing case by case. Tell us what your student needs and what works for your family, and we will land on a number together. Cost should not be the reason a student says no.
How we teach
Lessons are built around something a student actually wants to finish. In beginner programming that has meant turning the basics into a video game generator, so the Python gets learned on the way to something they can play at the end.
We do not walk students through the answer. Memorising one process falls apart the moment a variable changes. A student who understands why a method works can adapt it, and that carries into an exam, a contest, and a first year course.
The gap we set out to close is the one we hit ourselves. A program description tells you what a university sells. It does not tell you what the workload, the curriculum, or the pathway after it actually look like. Everyone teaching here came through competitive admissions recently enough to remember.
Where the money goes
STEMBridge keeps no profit. What comes in goes back into the program or out to a cause the three of us choose together.
Our first major donation was $6,800 to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in Toronto. In the summer of 2025, co-founder Eric Song was misdiagnosed with cancer and spent about four months at nineteen believing he had it, until doctors confirmed that September that he did not. He works in a research lab and knows what the work costs. A single specialised mouse model runs around $700, and one study can go through hundreds of them.
The next initiative is in Hamilton, where we study. We are putting together a winter drive for people who are unhoused, covering clothing, survival equipment and other essentials. We plan to keep supporting cancer research alongside it.

Who we are
STEMBridge Academy was founded in 2025 by three third-year Integrated Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences students at McMaster University.

Tutor with us
We are bringing on more tutors. The most urgent gaps are beginner programming and contest programming, and we are also open to broadening the subjects we offer.
You do not need teaching credentials. You need to know the material well and be willing to sit with a student who does not have it yet. Email us with what you would want to teach and roughly how much time you have.
